Biography

Ahmet Afif Topbaş derives his fortune from BİM Birleşik Mağazalar, Turkey's largest discount supermarket chain.

Founded in 1995, BIM has more than 12,000 locations across Turkey, Morocco and Egypt.

His brother Mustafa Latif Topbaş, also a billionaire, is CEO and cofounder of the company.

Ahmet owns about 12% of BİM, which also has locations in Morocco with 687 stores there and in Egypt with 356 stores.

He owns about 12% of the company which has annual revenues exceeding $5 billion and offers a popular mobile telecom service under the brand name Bimcell.
