Biography
Alex Behring is a co-founder and partner in private equity firm 3G Capital, best known for its investments in Anheuser-Busch InBev and Restaurant Brands International, parent of Burger King and Canadian coffee chain Tim Hortons.
Behring's billionaire partners in 3G include fellow Brazilians Jorge Paulo Lemann, Marcel Telles and Carlos Alberto Sicupira.
Behring holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, where he was both a Baker Scholar and a Loeb Scholar, and currently serves on the Board of Dean's Advisors of Harvard Business School.
3G sold its stake in U.S. condiment maker Kraft-Heinz in 2024 after 11 years.
In 2021, 3G acquired 75% of Dutch window shade company Hunter Douglas in a $7 billion transaction, and in 2025 paid almost $10 billion for U.S sneaker brand Skechers.
About
Behring played water polo at the national level in Brazil from the junior leagues through college.
He is also a free diver and a spear fisher who held a world record for mahi-mahi fishing.
