Biography
Alexander Dzhaparidze started out buying outdated seismic facilities abroad in the 1990s and offering exploration services in Russia.
Dzhaparidze founded service company Petroalliance, which he later sold to Schlumberger.
He bought oil giant Lukoil's drilling subsidiary for $130 million in 2004 and turned it into Eurasia Drilling Company.
In 2017 Eurasia Drilling announced that its shareholders agreed to sell 51% of the company to Schlumberger.
