Biography

Analjit Singh is the youngest son of Bhai Mohan Singh, founder of pharma firm Ranbaxy Laboratories.

Today he controls the $4.5 billion (revenue) Max Group, with interests in healthcare, insurance and specialty packaging film.

In recent years, Singh has invested in South Africa where he owns a vineyard and two boutique resorts.

His son, Veer, runs Vana, a private wellness retreat in the northern Indian city of Dehradun.

In February 2025 he settled a three-year-long dispute with estranged wife Neelu Singh, by buying out her 24.15% stake in family holding company Max Ventures.

About

The Boston University grad made an early investment in India's telecom sector and made a pile when he sold his stake in that business to Li Ka-shing.

His daughter founded Antara, a senior living community in North India.

In March 2022, his wife Neelu filed a lawsuit alleging mismanagement by her husband. Singh has refuted her allegations.
