Biography

Andrei Kosogov is a member of Russian conglomerate Alfa Group's supervisory board and is in charge of its investment units.

Kosogov cofounded international investment company LetterOne in 2013. He stepped down from the board in March 2022 after his partners were sanctioned by the EU and the U.K.

LetterOne has invested in oil and gas firm Wintershall Dea, cellular companies Vimpelcom and Turkcell, and health food chain Holland & Barrett.

About

Born in Estonia when it was part of the Soviet Union, Kosogov graduated from Moscow Power Engineering Institute.

In 1992, Mikhail Fridman hired Kosogov to oversee the establishment of a privatization investment fund. Months later he became chief executive of Alfa Capital.
