Biography

Anju Agarwal is the widow of the late Rajendra Agarwal, who set up Macleods Pharmaceuticals with his two brothers in 1986 to make anti-TB medicines.

Rajendra Agarwal died in November 2025 at age 66.

Privately held Macleods Pharmaceuticals is among India's leading pharma firms. It produces generics for a range of diseases including asthma, osteoporosis and diabetes.

Her husband's older brothers, Girdharilal Bawri and Banwarilal Bawri, who are also billionaires, are chairman and joint managing director respectively.
