Biography
Tony Langley owns Nottinghamshire, UK-based engineering and manufacturing giant Langley Holdings.
Langley started the business in 1975, at age 20, with what was left of his grandfather's failed engineering firm.
He launched Langley Mining, which sold equipment to the UK coal industry and eventually moved to steel, oil and gas customers as well.
He has diversified through acquisitions, including buying crane manufacturer Clarke Chapman from Rolls-Royce in 2000 and Bergen Engines (also from Rolls-Royce) in 2021.
Langley is now pivoting the group to provide behind-the-meter power solutions for the AI data center boom.
Langley Holdings employs 5,500 people across more than 90 subsidiaries and generates annual revenues of around $2 billion.
