Biography
Oil tycoon Autry Stephens started a sole proprietor business in Texas and drilled his first well in 1979.
That company grew into Endeavor Energy Resources, a privately held oil exploration and production firm.
Endeavor is one of the largest private oil producers in the U.S., generating some 311,100 barrels of oil equivalent per day.
The company has the rights to drill on more than 500,000 acres in the U.S., mainly in Texas.
