Biography
Cao Renxian is the chairman and CEO of Sungrow, which makes renewable energy products such as solar PV inverters, wind power converters and energy storage products.
Coming from an impoverished rural family in Hangzhou, Cao got his bachelor's and master's degrees in industrial automation from the Hefei University of Technology.
After spotting opportunities in the renewable energy market, he founded in 1997 Sungrow while teaching at his alma mater.
Today, the Shenzhen-listed company also sells its products in global markets including the Middle East, Southeast Asia and the U.S.
