Biography
DeSantis founded Sundown Vitamins, later renamed Rexall Sundown, in 1976 and took the company public in 1993.
Dutch food giant Royal Numico acquired Rexall Sundown for $1.8 billion in 2000, and DeSantis then started a family office in Boca Raton, Florida.
A business partner introduced him to Celsius Holdings, an energy drink producer then based in nearby Delray Beach, in the mid-2000s.
DeSantis owns 30% of Celsius shares, which soared tenfold in 2020, making him a billionaire.
DeSantis dropped out of Florida State in the 1950s and started his career at Walgreens, eventually becoming the manager of a store in Greensboro, N.C.
About
DeSantis developed and owned the 50,000-acre Kwandwe private game reserve in South Africa for more than a decade before selling in 2012.
