Biography
Real estate developer Charles Cohen bought out his father and uncle and quadrupled the family real estate empire to 12 million square feet.
Most of his fortune is in high end office buildings in New York City and design centers in several cities.
WeWork leases office space from Cohen Brothers Realty's 750 Lexington Avenue in Manhattan and the Pacific Design Center in Los Angeles.
Cohen owns high end luxury brands such as Harrys of London, Savile Row tailor Richard James and luggage company T. Anthony.
In 2018, he bought movie theater chain Landmark Theatres from Mark Cuban and picked up Manhattan society magazine Avenue.
He owns or has the rights to some 1,000 classic films.

Cohen wrote the 1985 movie quiz book "Trivia Mania."
Cohen is buying and renovating historic movie theaters like Paris cinema La Pagode, the Larchmont Playhouse and the reopened Quad Cinema in Manhattan.
Cohen produced the 2008 Oscar-nominated "Frozen River" and distributed five foreign films nominated by the Academy Awards. He won for "The Salesman."
