Biography

Chen Fashu chairs New Huadu Group, a holding company which he founded in 1998 after several business ventures including timber trading and retail.

Through New Huadu Group, Chen holds stakes in Yunnan Baiyao (a pharmaceutical company) and Longi Green Energy.

Chen became an avid investor after reaping a large return with stakes in Zijin Minging Group, a gold miner.

Chen is also on the board of Shanghai Pharmaceuticals Holding.

He is a native of China's Fujian Province, northeast of Hong Kong.
