Biography
David "Sandy" Gottesman's fortune mostly comes from his early investment in Berkshire Hathaway, where he sits on the board.
A Harvard Business School graduate, Gottesman cofounded the investment firm First Manhattan Co., which was an early investor in Berkshire Hathaway.
First Manhattan now has more than $20 billion in assets under management.
About
Gottesman is vice chairman and a trustee of the American Museum of Natural History and a trustee of Mount Sinai Medical Center.
Gottesman met Warren Buffett in 1962 and they have been friends ever since.
