Biography
Derek Stevens is the CEO and majority owner of three casinos in Downtown Las Vegas, The Golden Gate, The D and his crown jewel, Circa.
Stevens, who co-owns these properties with his brother, opened Circa in October 2020 at a cost of $1 billion. It was the first new casino in Downtown Las Vegas since the 1980s.
Born in Grosse Point, Michigan, Stevens is also the CEO of Cold Heading Co., a leading manufacturer and supplier of fasteners for the auto industry that his family started in the early 1900s.
Stevens first bought 50% of The Golden Gate on Fremont Street, which opened in 1906 as Sin City's first hotel and casino. A few years later, he bought the rest.
In 2011, Stevens bought Fitzgerald's, an Irish-themed casino, and completed a 36-story renovation and renamed it The D.
Stevens also owns Circa Sports, a sports betting company that is live across seven states.
