Biography
Emma Marcegaglia is the CEO and chairman of Marcegaglia Holding, which owns Italian steelmaker Marcegaglia, the world's largest maker of welded tubes.
She owns half of Marcegaglia, with the other half owned by her brother Antonio; the siblings took over after the death of their father Steno in 2013.
Steno founded the company in 1959 in the northern Italian city of Mantua and grew it into a multinational firm with operations on multiple continents.
Marcegaglia processes 6.2 million tons of steel a year and posted $6.6 billion in sales in 2019.
From 2008 to 2012, she served as the president of Confindustria, Italy's largest business association and chamber of commerce.

She was the chair of the board of Italian oil major Eni from 2014 to 2020.
She also served as the president of Luiss Guido Carli University in Rome.
