Biography
Erik Selin is CEO of publicly traded real estate firm Fastighets AB Balder, which he founded in 2005.
Selin skipped college to focus on his stock investments but lost it all in the crash of 1987, before moving on to property trades.
At age 24, Selin convinced a local bank to lend him $2 million to finance a deal for a residential development in ?ngelholm, Sweden.
Today 56% of the real estate held by Balder is residential.
Balder also has 50 hotels, making it one of Sweden's largest hotel owners.
About
Selin claims to have started reading annual reports at age 12 and trading securities at age 14 with money from summer jobs.
Balder is a partner in a new travel center in Sweden that was supposedly one of the last projects of famed architect Zaha Hadid.
