Biography
The bulk of Frits Goldschmeding's fortune comes from his 32% stake in staffing company Randstad Holding, with branches in 38 countries.
The company paid more than $400 million in 2016 to acquire U.S.-based job hunting site Monster.com.
Goldschmeding founded the business in 1960, calling it Uitzendbureau Amstelveen; he changed the name to Randstad four years later.
He took the company public in 1990, then retired in 1998; he no longer has a management role at the company.
About
In 2015, he started The Goldschmeding Foundation for People, Work and Economy, which promotes economic education.
Randstad provided 16,000 employees for the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, and Goldschmeding participated in the torch relay.
