Biography
Girdharilal Bawri is the chairman of Macleods Pharmaceuticals, one of India's leading pharma firms.
Bawri, whose family owned a pharmacy in Jaipur, set up Macleods Pharmaceuticals in 1986 with his two siblings to make anti-TB medicines.
Macleods produces generics for a range of diseases including asthma, osteoporosis and diabetes.
His younger brother Banwarilal Bawri is joint managing director of Macleods. While his other younger brother Rajendra Agrawal passed away in November 2025.

Bawri and his two siblings live together with their families in the same building in Mumbai.
The company was named after John Macleod, a Scottish doctor and author of medical textbooks.?
