Biography
Holger Loclair, originally from the GDR (former socialist East Germany) started working in 1987 at an industrial company that was later named Orafol when capitalism took hold.
West German investor Klaus Schmidbaur owned Orafol until he gradually transferred 99% of it to Loclair during 2013-2016.
Orafol is the world market leader for self-adhesive reflective films and industrial tapes.
Loclair is the only billionaire form former East Germany. His son Christian Loclair invests in startups.
