Biography
Isaac Larian, founder of toymaker MGA Entertainment, began making dolls after picking up a talking one that Mattel passed on.
Today MGA Entertainment makes Little Tikes, Bratz dolls, and Lalaloopsy dolls.
When Larian first saw the Bratz dolls in 2001, he thought they looked like aliens.
MGA started importing electronics like Nintendo's early handheld videogame systems before eventually designing toys.
About
Larian left Iran in 1971 on a one-way ticket, then put himself through Cal State, Los Angeles, as a waiter.
With his brother, Larian started an import-export business shipping brass lawn ornaments.
