Biography

Jack Dangermond founded Esri, the industry leader in GIS technology, a specialized software used for creating digital maps.

He founded the company in 1969 with $1,100 in personal savings and is thought of as the godfather of digital mapping technology.

Esri has about a 40% share of the global geographic information system market.

Esri has pledged $1 billion worth of free GIS Software to all American K-12 schools.
