Jacques D'Amours cofounded Canadian convenience store conglomerate Alimentation Couche-Tard in 1980.

He retired as VP of administration in 2014 and retired from the company's board in 2023.

Couche-Tard has ballooned by snatching up competitors, including Minnesota-based Holiday Stationstores for $1.6 billion in 2017.
