Biography

Jahm Najafi is a Phoenix-based private equity investor whose portfolio includes direct-to-consumer brands and minority stakes in sports teams.

An Iranian by birth, Najfi's family immigrated to the U.S. when he was a child.

After a stint on Wall Street and his older brother's Pivotal Group real estate firm, Najafi launched his own investment firm, Najafi Companies.

His most lucrative acquisition was a $100 million bet in 2003 on domain registrar Network Solutions, which he sold for $800 million in 2007.

Najafi acquired 10% of the Phoenix Suns in 2009 and rolled forward his stake when a group led by billionaire Mat Ishbia bought the team for $4 billion in 2023.

About

Najafi previously owned a minority stake in British Formula 1 team McLaren Racing, which he sold in a 2025 deal that valued McLaren at $4.5 billion.

Najafi's MSP Sports Capital has invested in several European football clubs alongside billionaire Blackstone executive David Blitzer.
