Biography
James Tisch's father Laurence (d. 2003) started Loews Corporation with his brother Bob (d. 2005) as a New Jersey hotel venture in 1946.
James is CEO of Loews. His brother Andrew and cousin Jonathan are co-chairmen.
Loews is active in insurance, drilling rigs, natural gas pipelines and hotels.
James' mother Wilma is also a billionaire, as are his cousins Laurie and Steven.
The Tisch family donated funds to support NYU's Tisch School of the Arts and its Tisch Hospital at Langone Medical Center.
