Biography
John Oyler is the CEO, cofounder and chairman of global oncology company BeOne Medicines. He owns nearly 5% of the publicly traded company.
BeOne Medicines, which was formerly called BeiGene, was founded in 2010 as a research and development firm. It went public on the Nasdaq in 2016 and listed in Hong Kong two years later.
Before he cofounded BeOne, Oyler helped start and then sell two companies in the U.S. and China.
He sold Telephia, a consumer telecom research firm he founded in 1997, to The Nielsen Co. for $449 million in 2007.
Oyler's next success came with drug discovery outsourcing company BioDuro, which he founded in 2005 and sold to PPD Inc. for $77 million in 2010.
About
BeOne has more than 40 drugs in its pipeline. Its blood cancer drug Brukinsa did more than $2 billion in U.S. sales in 2024.
