Juan Lopez-Belmonte Lopez & family

Juan Lopez-Belmonte Lopez is chairman of the board of Laboratorios Farmaceuticos Rovi, a Madrid-based biotechnology firm.

His son Juan Lopez-Belmonte Encina is CEO of the company; two other sons serve as vice presidents of Rovi, as the company is known.

Lopez-Belmonte and his sons together own more than 60% of the Madrid-listed company.

In July 2020, Rovi and U.S. firm Moderna agreed to collaborate on manufacturing and packaging Moderna's Covid-19 vaccine candidate.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration gave emergency authorization to Moderna's Covid-19 vaccine in December 2020 and the EU soon followed suit.
