Biography
Kuok Khoon Hong cofounded Wilmar in 1991 and built it into one of the world's largest palm oil producers.
He listed Wilmar's Chinese subsidiary, Yihai Kerry Arawana, in a $2.1 billion IPO in 2020 on the Shenzhen stock exchange.
Kuok's other investments include stakes in billionaire Zhong Sheng Jian's Yanlord Land as well as Perennial Real Estate Holdings.
Kuok co-owns the Aviva Tower in London with Indonesian billionaire and Wilmar cofounder Martua Sitorus.
About
BandLab Technologies, a digital music startup founded by Kuok's son Kuok Meng Ru, owns the U.K. music brand NME, which has launched in Asia.
He is the nephew of Malaysian billionaire Robert Kuok.
In 2020, he donated S$3 million to the The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund, which provides pocket money to children from poor families.
