Biography
Lim and his family own a majority stake in Singapore-listed palm oil producer Bumitama Agri; its plantations are located in Indonesia.
His son Lim Gunawan Hariyanto is CEO of the family's Harita Group.
Harita Group also owns the majority of listed bauxite mining firm Cita Mineral Investindo. Lim's integrated nickel processing company Trimegah Bangun Persada raised $650 million in a 2023 IPO.
Lim's father emigrated from China to East Kalimantan and reportedly opened a grocery store in 1915.
His daughter Christina is executive director of Bumitama Agri.
About
The family group's name Harita comes from Lim Hariyanto and wife Rita.
Lim started pursuing higher education in his late 60s, and obtained a doctoral degree in business administration from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2005 at age 77.
