Maike Oberwelland-Height

Oberwelland-Height's great-grandfather, August Storck founded the business in the Westphalia town of Werther in 1903.

At the time, sweets typically were sold unpackaged and without branding. He packaged his individually and gave them snappy names.

Today, Storck employs over 7,000 people, sells products in more than 100 countries and generates almost $3 billion in estimated annual revenue.

Her brother, Axel, became the fourth generation of his family to lead the company after their father, Klaus, retired on Storck's 100th anniversary in 2003.
