Biography

Mao Geping is chairman of his eponymous company Mao Geping Cosmetics, based in Hangzhou, China.

He took the company public in Hong Kong in 2024, raising over $300 million in the IPO.

The cosmetics brand competes with international labels in China's premium market, offering products such as $50 foundations and $30 eye shadow palettes.

Mao initially studied Chinese opera performance but later went into cosmetics. He set up his own brand in 2000.

The mogul's wife, Wang Liqun, is the company's vice chairman. His two sisters are both directors.
