Biography
Google's first female engineer and 20th employee, Marissa Mayer spent 13 years at the tech company, which is the source of much of her fortune.
Mayer took over as CEO of Yahoo in 2012, but was unable to keep web traffic and ad revenues from falling.
Mayer resigned as CEO of Yahoo in 2017, when it sold to Verizon for $4.5 billion, following Yahoo's disclosure of security breaches.
She then cofounded Sunshine, which launched AI apps to automate everyday tasks, in 2018.
Sunshine raised $17 million but is reportedly dissolving and selling its assets to Marissa's third act, AI firm Dazzle.
