Mark Meijer owns the Michigan-based grocery chain Meijer with his brothers Hank and Doug.

Mark has no role in day-to-day operations but serves on the company's board of directors.

He runs an ambulance company, Life EMS, that he cofounded in 1980.

Meijer has 500 stores in the Midwest and estimated revenues of $22 billion.

His grandfather, Henrik, a Dutch immigrant, started the company in 1934.
