Biography
Robert Hale is the founder and CEO of wholesale telecommunications provider Granite Telecommunications.
Hale founded Granite in 2002, less than six months after his previous company, Network Plus, filed for bankruptcy.
The company provides voice, data and other communications services to businesses and governmental agencies in the U.S. and Canada.
Granite generated over $1.7 billion in sales in 2024; the company says more than two thirds of the largest 100 U.S. companies are clients.
Hale has personally donated over $400 million toward cancer research, educational institutions and other charitable causes.

Hale owns a minority stake in the Boston Celtics.
When Hale's not traveling for business, he partakes in 6:30 a.m. group workouts with Granite employees at the company gym in Quincy, MA.
