Biography
Samuel Yin leads Taiwan's Ruentex Group, which has interests in financial services, real estate and healthcare.
He also has stakes in Nan Shan Life Insurance, where his son Chung-Yao is chairman.
His grandfather founded the business and his wife Wong Yee-Fan served as chairman of Ruentex Industries until 2022.
About
In 2013 Yin donated $100 million to create the Tang Prize, an award modeled on the Nobel Prize.
The first from Taiwan to sign the Giving Pledge, Yin has said he will donate 95% of his wealth to charity during his lifetime.
