Biography
Shin Dong-joo is the eldest son of Shin Kyuk-Ho, the late founder of Lotte Group, one of South Korea's largest conglomerates.
The retail heavyweight has interests ranging from food and beverage to chemicals, construction and professional baseball.
In 2015, he was dismissed from his executive positions in the group after a bitter feud with his brother Dong-Bin.
About
Lotte started as a confectionery manufacturer in Japan in 1948 and expanded into South Korea in 1967.
At the start of his career, he worked for Mitsubishi in Japan in 1978.
