Biography
Sid Bass inherited several million dollars from his oil tycoon great-uncle Sid Richardson in 1959. He's been diversifying ever since.
Bass has nurtured the careers of famed investors like Richard Rainwater.
He personally negotiated the $6 billion sale of Bass oilfields in 2017 with then ExxonMobil CEO Rex Tillerson.
He rescued ice cream maker Blue Bell with an investment after a 2015 listeria outbreak.
