Biography

The son of a rubber seller, Sjamsul Nursalim made his fortune in tire, property, coal and retail businesses.

His Singapore-headquartered Giti Tire is a global player, selling to more than 130 countries.

He owns a stake in listed retailer Mitra Adiperkasa, which operates Zara, Topshop, Steve Madden and other retail brands in Indonesia.

His family also owns a stake in Singapore-listed Tuan Sing Holdings, which develops and owns a range of properties.

About

Giti jointly developed the tires used in BYD's hypercar Yangwang U9 Xtreme, which set a new world speed record for mass-produced cars in September 2025.
