Biography
Soegiarto Adikoesoemo founded AKR Corporindo as a chemicals trader in 1960 and listed it on the Indonesian Stock Exchange in 1994.
AKR Corporindo is now engaged in petroleum trading and distribution, logistics services, chemical manufacturing and industrial estate.
AKR Corporindo and British oil and gas firm BP's joint venture distributes aviation fuel and operates jointly branded service stations in Indonesia.
Soegiarto is AKR's president commissioner. His son Haryanto is president director.
In September 2024, AKR's East Java industrial estate JIIPE inaugurated the world's largest single line copper smelter by capacity, run by Indonesia-U.S. joint venture Freeport Indonesia.
About
His son Haryanto Adikoesoemo started collecting art over 25 years ago and has accumulated 800 pieces, including works by Andy Warhol and Mark Rothko.
Haryanto opened a museum dedicated entirely to modern and contemporary art, Museum MACAN, in November 2017.
