Biography

Steve Fredette is cofounder and president of Toast, which makes restaurant software. He owns 5% of the company.

Toast listed on the New York Stock Exchange in a 2021 IPO that was the largest ever by a Boston-based company.

Fredette and his cofounders, Aman Narang and Jonathan Grimm, attended MIT and worked at Cambridge, Massachusetts-based search software company Endeca together.

The trio launched Toast in 2012 as a mobile payments app for restaurants. The software has expanded to include features for online ordering and delivery.
