Steven Hao

Steven Hao is the CTO of Cognition, a vibe-coding startup that raised $400 million in September 2025, vaulting its worth to $10.2 billion.

Cognition is the maker of Devin, a coding agent used by businesses including Citibank and fintech Ramp.

Hao, along with cofounders Scott Wu and Walden Yan, are all gold medalist coders who met on the competitive circuit.

Before Cognition, Hao was a top engineer at Scale AI, the data labeling giant that sold nearly half its company to Meta.

Cognition is backed by blue chip investors including Founders Fund, Khosla Ventures and Bain Capital Ventures.
