Biography
Sumet Jiaravanon has been executive chairman of Charoen Pokphand Group, Thailand's biggest conglomerate, since 1993.
He is the older brother of Thai billionaire Dhanin Chearavanont, senior chairman of CP Group.
Sumet is listed separately from Dhanin based on his ownership of close to a 13% stake in the family's vast assets.
He also chairs the family's Chinese arm Chia Tai Group.
His son, Chatchaval, bought Fortune magazine for $150 million in 2018.
