Sun Mengquan chairs Shandong-based cooking oil company Luhua Group.

Sun began working for the predecessor of Luhua in 1983, when it was a nearly bankrupt metals trading collective with fewer than 10 workers.

Sun shifted the company's business to processing and exporting peanuts, and, later, into peanut oil.
