Biography

Tahir, who goes by one name, is founder of Mayapada group, a conglomerate with interests in banking, healthcare, media and real estate.

The family has stakes in listed Bank Mayapada and Maha Properti Indonesia.

He also owns properties in Singapore, including through listed property firm MYP.

His wife Rosy is the daughter of Indonesian tycoon Mochtar Riady.

About

Tahir's father was a pedicab maker.

Tahir got his start with car dealerships in late 1980s; when business failed, he moved into the garment business.
