Biography
Serving as President Trump's ambassador to Italy "is a real job," says Fertitta, who personally oversaw the renovation of Villa Taverna, the ambassador's residence in Rome.
Fertitta also owns the Golden Nugget Casinos and Landry's, a Texas-based restaurant and entertainment company.
Landry's brands include Landry's Seafood House, Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. and Saltgrass Steak House.
Fertitta took Landry's private in 2010 in a deal worth $1.4 billion.
In September 2025 Fertitta put his 275-foot yacht Boardwalk up for sale for about $175 million. He has a bigger one on order.
About
Fertitta first learned the food business at his father's seafood restaurant where he worked after school.
He bought land on the Vegas Strip for $270 million, but Fertitta put plans for a megacasino on hold after acquiring a large stake in Wynn Resorts.
