Wang Weixiu's fortune derives from his stake in Zhongji Innolight, a supplier of optical communication modules and devices.

Zhongji Innolight was founded in 1987 and formerly known as Shandong Zhongji Electrical Equipment.

He stepped down as its chairman in 2023.

His son Wang Xiaodong serves as the company's director and executive vice president.
