Biography

Wei Jianjun is the chairman of Great Wall Motor, one of China's largest SUV manufacturers, which sells to over 170 countries and regions.

He took over the debt-plagued Great Wall Automobile Industry Company, the predecessor to the current business, in 1990 when he was only 26.

Wei worked at a carpet factory and a water-pump factory before joining Great Wall.

Great Wall started up its first Brazil plant in August 2025. It is part of the company's 10 billion reais ($1.9 billion) planned investment in the country.
