Founded in 2013, Bitmain is China's largest cryptocurrency mining-chip company; it specializes in selling ASIC-chip miners.
Bitmain reportedly filed for a U.S. IPO in October 2019, more than a year after a failed attempt to go public on Hong Kong's stock exchange.

He cofounded a crypto financial services startup called Matrixport in February 2019.
He owns about 20% of Bitmain, which is less than Zhan's 36% stake.
About
Wu claims to be the first person to translate the Bitcoin whitepaper into Mandarin Chinese.
Wu reportedly first met cofounder Micree Zhan through a chance encounter on the street in Beijing, while Zhan was working on a startup to develop TV set-top boxes.
