Yuan Jiandong chairs Shanghai-listed BrightGene Bio-Medical Technology, a pharmaceutical supplier.
Following university, he worked for U.S.-based Enzo Biochem from 1998 to 2001 before returning to China to start BrightGene.
He holds an undergraduate degree in chemistry from Peking University and a Ph.D. in chemistry from the State University of New York.
