Biography

Zhang Xin and her husband Pan Shiyi co-founded real estate developer Soho China.

Soho China is listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and develops office towers in Shanghai and Beijing.

Prior to founding Soho China, Zhang worked on Wall Street for Goldman Sachs and Travelers Group.

In June 2021, U.S. private equity giant Blackstone said it would buy the majority of Soho China for as much as $3.05 billion; the purchase wasn't completed.

In 2022, Pan and Zhang stepped down from their leadership roles as chairman and CEO "in order to focus on supporting the arts and philanthropic pursuits" but remain on the board.
