Biography
Zhou Qunfei is the chairman of Lens Technology, a touch screen maker whose customers include Apple, Samsung and Huawei.
It also supplies to electric vehicle makers such as Tesla and BYD.
A migrant factory worker as a teenager, Zhou has gone on to become one of the world's richest self-made women.
Lens Technology went public on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in 2015, 22 years after she founded the company. It had a dual listing in Hong Kong in July 2025.
Zhou first took the plunge as an entrepreneur in 1993 when she set up a watch parts company, the precursor of Lens, with relatives in an apartment in Shenzhen.
About
Growing up she helped her family raise pigs and ducks for food and additional money.
Zhou dropped out of school at 16 and traveled south to Guangdong province to live with her uncle's family and search for better work.
